Ever since I became cautious about my health and through my journey of eating healthy, salads have been an important part of my meals or sometimes if it is delicious and a big plate it can be the meal itself.
However, doing the prep for the salads soon became a headache and required extra effort as my help/cook isn’t too well versed with putting together a good variety of salads. I’d just go to a restaurant and order a plate of caesar salad with lean grilled chicken and that’s about it. But hey, there are far more varieties and dressings to experiment with.
‘Lean on me’ salads, Chennai – by Minal Kripalani is a good option for people who don’t really have the time and can’t put in that extra effort for a healthy meal. Minal loves to give a unique ingredient to each of her salads. she pays extra attention to detail by asking customers about their food allergies and preferences. Currently, the service is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. She has different varieties like prawn, chicken, tuna, egg for the non vegetarians and tofu, paneer , feta, haloumi, legumes like chickpea and red kidney beans for the vegetarians.
What I really look for in a salad is the dressing. When I spoke to Minal, she mentioned about the different dressings like the asain, chimichurri, salsa, balsamic, vinaigrette, skinny ranch, tzatziki, gado gado. I would certainly try such wide variety over a period of time.
When I ordered my first salad, I got this picture from Minal with the list of ingredients. The plate below made for a perfect meal. I enjoyed it to bits and it didn’t cost me much.
